About
Manager the Manager Harriet Moss
I have been with Books Inc for approximately 12 years. My book experience began at Barnes & Noble in Los Angeles and Borders in Palo Alto. While I was raised in Palo Alto, I would usually go to Kepler’s with friends but usually checked books out from the Library. My previous work experience has been primarily in Education having been a Director of Student Services (USC MBA program), Assistant Dean (UCLA) as well as Director of Admission at a private girls school in San Francisco. I tend to read History, Current Events (a number of books on North Korea) and Biographies but I do read anything written by Jasmine Guillory (Contemporary Romance).

This delightful book about individuality and identity brims with energy. You’ll want to start snipping words and pictures out of magazines to make your own zine like Malu does, and revisit your 80s playlist. And if you hadn’t listened to ranchera music before, you’ll do some googling and find some! I can’t wait to discuss this at book club with my middle graders.

Nevermoor’s smart world building is a breath of fresh air, with the kind of plucky protagonist whose bright story of evolving identity and admirable resilience is unlike any other, revealed in a truly addictive narrative. I read this brilliant 465 page adventure in one sitting, from first page to last, and am now forever drawn to its memorable world of Nevermoor, and equally as alluring characters.

A wonderful surreal set of short stories. Each haunting and engrossing in unique ways I haven't read before.

This book is addictive and you won't want to put it down. A man wakes up on a space ship lightyears away from earth alone, and with amnesia. As he regains his memories, we learn he is hamanity's last hope to save the planet. It's a gripping novel of friendship and survival that I would recommend to anyone.

This is a story about stories, and it's structured like a puzzle- the further you get, the more the pieces come together. The vivid imagery ansd dreamlike prose make for an enchanting experience the whole way through! The authors other book The Night Circus, is just as good!

Absolutely fasinating read! I came out of this one with a new appreciation for both familiar animals and some I didn't know existed. Nature is amazing!
